International Yachtmaster® Training provides the highest standards of marine training to both the professional and the recreational yachting industry. The International Yachtmaster® Training Yachtmaster® Program is a truly international qualification. This course is offered throughout the USA and other countries worldwide. With structured courses leading to the Yachtmaster® Offshore and Ocean, International Yachtmaster® Training intends to provide you with the skills and knowledge required for safe coastal, offshore and ocean passage making in both sail and power vessels. For the professional yachtsman, International Yachtmaster® Training aims to be the premier specialist yachting school and provide complete, accessible, structured training for the Maritime and Coastguard Agency (United Kingdom) Deck Officer Class 4 CE (Y) (aka Master of Yachts, Master (Yachts)), and Chief Engineer Class Y1 to Y4.
The syllabus for our Yachtmaster®'s Certificate has been adapted to the professional yachtsman. A portion of this curriculum is included to suit local weather conditions and territorial waters. Our Yachtmaster® Offshore Certification Program is an extensive course designed to provide the highest standards of maritime education for both the professional and recreational yachtsman and woman. It is an intensive course designed for experienced crew with sufficient on the water experience. This program is not for beginners.
When it comes to facing the elements at sea, textbook knowledge is no substitute for practical experience. There is no doubt that aspiring Yachtmasters and captains must prepare themselves as much as possible before being able to truly take full responsibility for themselves, their vessels and their crews. Yachtmaster® Certification is of vital importance because it is an established and globally recognized measure of competency for the commanding of power and sail vessels. This certification not only makes yachting a pleasure, as it should be, but also a safer pursuit for all those who wish to participate now and in the future. International Yachtmaster® Training offers 3 levels of Yachtmaster® Certification Programs and also offers specific M.C.A. Module Courses in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. Candidates are selected based on their yachting experience and nautical knowledge. Selection is at the discretion of the evaluation committee. Classes require detailed schedule coordination and planning, so it is recommended that application materials are submitted in a timely manner.
What do I receive at the end of the entire course? What are the costs & associated fees? How do I get started? Notes: Each Yachtmaster® course is limited in size, so early application is advised. Candidates are required to submit a 50% deposit with their application. Your place in the class will be reserved upon receipt of funds on a first-come, first-served basis.
